You asked and we delivered! Land’escapes is excited to introduce a new day hiking membership program aimed at responsible, conservation-minded hikers seeking a unique and challenging backcountry experience away from the congestion of public trails.
This is a tiered membership program, so access to trails and amenities will vary by membership level, with lower tiers limited to select trails and areas of the park. All prospective members will be vetted prior to approval to ensure their values are in alignment with ours.

FAQs
Can I show up at any time?
You can come hike any time during our regular operating hours, as long as you’ve let us know that you’ll be coming beforehand. Certain areas that are accessible with the ‘Adventurer’ membership will require a reservation and may not always be available as campers are given priority.
Can I visit the park year-round?
You can visit the park year-round with some seasonal limitations. During the fall we licence out parcels of land for deer hunting, so those licenced areas are off limits to guests for the duration of the hunt. A staff member can go over which areas are still accessible and provide a map for navigating the park during hunting season. In the winter we don’t plow past the gatehouse and operate with reduced staff, so access to areas deeper in the park can be tricky and you’ll need to plan ahead with us to ensure a member of staff is on site when you visit.
What are the trails like?
Our trails are backcountry trails, and as such, they may be rougher than what many people are used to. With public access trails, the trails become wider and smoother over time as more people use them. As a private park, we have a much lower volume of people hiking our trails, so they tend to be more rugged, and this, combined with the naturally uneven terrain of the Canadian Shield, can make for a more challenging hiking experience. That said, we have trails suited to a range of experience levels, and our staff can help you plan a route that works for you.
How many additional people can I add to my membership?
You can only add 1 additional person to your membership. This option is meant for couples who usually hike together, but may sometimes want to visit the park separately.
What does the vetting process entail?
The park is a place for people to enjoy the natural beauty of the land while engaging in quiet recreation. In order to keep it that way, we want to ensure that anyone accessing the property intends to conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly. Before we allow membership to this program, we want to get to know prospective members and ensure their values are in line with ours, which may include a virtual meeting and/or a site visit.
Do you offer discounts to neighbours?
We want to be good neighbours! If you own property adjacent to the park, let us know and we may be able to offer you a discounted membership rate.
What are the rules?
Land’escapes is a place for quiet, low-impact recreation, and all guests are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully toward the land, our staff, and other guests. We reserve the right to revoke membership and/or remove any individual found to be in violation of our rules from the property.
