Description
All of our trips are intended for you to have a good time and enjoy the natural beauty of this special place. We expect all guests to be respectful and mindful of their impact on the land, other visitors, and wildlife. Please have a look at our rules to make sure we’re all on the same page before booking.
After gearing up at the main parking lot you will drive to the trail head at the Egan Creek Lot which takes about 5-10 minutes. You can then unload from your vehicle and head North along Egan Creek. This hike follows a nice wide dirt road for super easy hiking. Along the way you will pass a waterfall where you can take a short break (or a dip!). The hike will be 4.5km taking you between 1.5-2hrs. Your first campsite will be Egan-52 which overlooks Egan Creek and is far away from any other campsites making it super private!
Hiking Distance: 4.5 km
After packing up your site you will head out again, hiking past another waterfall before heading South to Chain Lakes where you will camp for your second night. This hike will be about 4km, taking about 1 hr to hike. There’s a canoe cache on Chain Lakes so you can do some paddling and explore the rest of the lake! This lake isn’t great for swimming but chances are high you will see some wildlife and enjoy the very private Chain Lakes!
Hiking Distance: 4 km
After packing up your site you will continue on towards Buttermilk and McFee Lake. This is a moderately challenging 5km hike which should take between 2-2.5hrs. On your hike you will cross through wetlands on boardwalks with some hilly terrain. For your final night you will camp at McFee-62. McFee is a small lake which may not be quite as private as the sites on the previous two nights, but this lake makes up for it with great swimming!
Hiking Distance: 5 km
On your final day you can sleep in and head out for an easy 600m hike with a few hills that should take you about 10-15 minutes to reach Stangl Lane. From here you will follow the road back out 850m to MacKenzie Ln and over to the Egan Creek Parking Lot where you will find your vehicle which will take roughly 20-25 minutes.
Hiking Distance: 1.45 km
Walking speed: 3km/h with a pack
Paddling speed: 20-30 min per km

All of our trip prices are per group. This means that the listed price is what you pay and you decide how many guests to bring up to the max. group size.
Contact us if you plan to come with 1-2 people and we may be able to offer a reduced price!
All of our online bookings are subject to a 6% reservation fee. We have included this fee in our prices so that the final price you are paying is what is listed on our website + hst.
At all of our campsites we have created some designated spaces that are flat and suitable for up to 4 person tents.
Feel free to get creative and find another spot to set up if you need to bring more tents than the listed number of tent pads.
There aren’t washrooms as you’d expect in your home, but there are outdoor privy boxes / thunder boxes / treasures chests (they have many names). These are essentially outhouses without walls, but they have great views.
