Description

Campsite Description

This campsite is located on the north shore of Dark lake and can be accessed by canoe or by foot. This campsite is a local favorite – many crown land campers seem to have used this site over the years. It’s very well established with a picnic table. There is a nice open area with old growth pine trees surrounding it. Deep water right at the shore allowing you to dive right on it. Big fire pit and a view of the island in front and views of the whole lake. A photographer’s dream destination. It should be noted the campsite is high off the water and can be a little tricky to get to the top. You can also expect sunset views.

Access: Paddle Access (Hike Optional)
Swimming Conditions: Good
Number of Tent Pads: 3

Directions

You can park your vehicle at the Limerick Loop Lot, or depending on road conditions you can park at the Blue Seas Lakes Lot. Take the short cut connector (1km) directly to the canoe cache on Dixon Lake where you can grab a canoe and paddle down Dixon Creek to Dark Lake. There’s a beaver dam which you will either need to paddle over, or pull the canoe over. The paddle is about 3km from the canoe cache to the site.
